Sandbach Football Festival
At the end of the 2010/2011 season Grappenhall Sports Under 9's entered 4 teams into the Sandbach Football festival. Between the teams we played in excess of 20 matches and it is fair to say that everybody had an enjoyable day at what was a well organised event.
Throughout the season we had stuck to our principles, despite the odd de-moralising defeat, of ensuring that all players were given equal chance to play. We worked very hard on the technical aspect of the players games and we put a great emphasis on passing and skills. The tournament was rich reward for our efforts and we really got the chance to see how well ALL of the lads had developed. Some of the football we played was great to see and the lads were trying things on the pitch that they had learned in training and during the course of the season.
At the end of the tournament the squad was awarded the Technical award for the tournament and they were presented with the Ben Morgan memorial trophy, which is on display in our clubhouse.
This was a real achievement for the squad and the coaching staff at the club and is something everyone should be very proud of.
