Tarporley (A) 27/08/11
Sports travelled to Tattenhall on the back of a great performance on Tuesday v Styal looking for 3 points. Manager Pye was down to bare bones due to unavailability and injuries and had to dip into the reserves for some support. In less than warm conditions it was soon obvious this was going to be a war of attrition. After a tight and edgy opening skipper Ryan Crawford continuing his good early season form netted Sports sending the travelling contingent supporters into raptures. A great effort by amateur football's answer to Dirk Kuyt (both in looks and stamina).
Half time came and went an Tarporley applied much pressure onto Sports who held firm at the back thanks to spirited performances from Dave France and Si Blight and a midfield that realised it was effort and heart that would win this game ...... and they did claiming 3 points away in bad conditions against a decent side not deserving of their status at the foot of the league.
