Grapp Sports 4 - 3 Gamesley (H) 24/09/11
Grappenhall Sports went into the match with Gamesley knowing that 3 points were vital following on from disappointing results in the last few weeks. The game started evenly until the deadlock was broken on 17 minutes as Lee Mannion guided a left footed volley past the Gamesley keeper following a Josh Brand cross. Gamesley were soon back on level terms though until just before the break when Mannion bent an unstoppable free kick into the top corner of the Gamesley net. 
After the break Gamesley came out strong and Grappenhall looked to have thrown away more points as the away side equalised and looked to have stolen all 3 points as they went 3-2 up in the 85th minute. But Grappenhall and Mannion had other ideas and in the 91st minute the young playmaker with film star hair smashed into the top corner for his and Grappenhall’s third of the game. More was to follow in this enthralling encounter, not content with a point Grappenhall continued to push forward and a through ball from hat trick hero Mannion caused confusion in the Gamesley defence resulting in a lobbed shot from Toad Newbolt hitting the underside of the cross bar before the back of the net, claiming a memorable victory and a massive 3 points for Grappenhall Sports.
