Welcome to the Grappenhall Sports FC page for the Under 10s 2011/12 season.
Development
Our aim this season is to get the players to further develop their skills gained from last season when sporting the colours of the Under 9s. This is the last season in Mini Soccer as next season they jump up to 11-a-side. Similar to last season, results at this stage in their development do not matter but are again being recorded and held centrally by the Mid Cheshire League. The first competitive competition takes place in February where they take part in the Albert Steel Trophy.
Last season, in order to encourage an understanding of team play, we split the squad into two equal standards to encourage players to develop an understanding of their team mates and positional sense. Towards the end of last and now the start of this season, there is more of a focus towards competition. Please click here to review the updated Selection Policy.
Training
The team train at the club on Thursdays until around late September. When the light fades training will switch to Lymm High School at a start time to be confirmed.
Code of Conduct
One of our main focuses is to encourage positive behaviour especially to the Match Officials. We aim to follow the FA's "Respect" campaign. Further information can be found here at the FAs website.The Respect campaign aims to:
- Improve conduct on the sidelines
- Promote positive role models
- Keep children in the game
The club also has a written 'Code of Conduct' (please click here to view) that all players, parents and coaches (everybody associated to the club) need to adhere to.
